Typically a lipo should take one hour for a full charge when starting with a near empty battery.
Lipos need to be charge at a rate of one "C". What this means is, whatever the capacity the battery has.
The supplied Radian lipo is 1300mah ( milli-amp- hours, or 1.3 amp hours). For charging this battery, you would set your charger to 1.3ah. For a 2100mah battery, you would set it at 2.1 ah, and move from there.
If you got your battery topped-off 1300mah battery down to say, 650mah it would take about 30 minutes to charge it right up again ...
Things to know about Lipo Batteries to help them last longer
- Do not to run them down to less than 30% capacity. If you notice a drop in power during your flight, that is a good time to stop and land Radian.
- Store them at around 1/2 capacit, a stored topped off battery can be under some stress problems.
- Your charger should have a display showing how much energy has been put back into your battery. This will help you work out how long your flights can be. Think of it as a car gas guage
- You can also use the gauge to determine the health of you battery. Like, if you run down your 1300mah battery to a low level and can't seem to put more than a few hundred mah back in, your battery is probably is near the end of its life.
- You can buy a good quality peaking charger for under $50 and then put it into a LiPo Sack for good measure, charging in a car can be dodgy if you leave it alone-these batteries can explode, that is why I reckon a Lipo Sack is good.
